The brief received from the clients was to design two cottages specifically for the accommodation of overseas tourists and NZ visitors to Hawke's Bay in a relaxed but contemporary style that was to be distinctly New Zealand and take advantage of the seclusion of the site, the climate, views and the easy access to wineries, restaurants, galleries and festival events.
