omarapeti
This off-the-grid solar-powered sustainable house sits on an elevated site in rural Wairarapa overlooking a man-made lake and woodlots. The house sleeps six in rooms that congregate around a central core of kitchen, dining and living spaces. A sustainable approach was taken to design, method of construction, materials, services and finishes. Stained timber claddings ensure a low-maintenance building and large sliding shutters reduce solar heat gain to the interiors.
